Boys’ Hockey

Concord 5, Bishop Guertin 1

Key players: Concord – Dawson Fancher (2 goals, 2 assists), Chad Lariviere (goal, 3 assists), AJ Dow (goal, 2 assists), Jack Showmaker (goal), Carter Doherty (2 assists)

Highlights: The Tide scored three goals in the second period to break open a game that was tied, 1-1, at the end of the first. Concord’s victory comes one week after the Cardinals and Crimson Tide finished in a 1-1 draw, ending Concord’s winning streak at five games.

Bow 2, Trinity 1, OT

Key players: Bow – Owen Webber (goal), Billy Smethurst (goal), Brodie O’Neil (assist), Mason Marquis (18 saves)

Highlights: The game was tied 1-1 after the first period and Webber buried the game-winning goal in overtime off a great pass from O’Neil.

Key players: Concord – Gracen Arndt (2 goals, assist); Bedford – Freya Gukelberger (30 saves in net)

Highlights: Freshman Arndt was involved with three of four Concord goals and the Crimson Tide managed to put four shots past a strong Bedford goaltender.

Coach’s quote: “In a game where we needed a win, we put in a full team effort for the win. Bedford’s goaltenders played great, we put up a lot of shots and stopped most of them. It’s great to pick up another win when we needed it, especially with a challenging week ahead.” – Concord’s Kate Billings

Kearsarge 57, Stevens 38

Key players: Kearsarge – Adara Boucher (23 points), Tessa Marinello (12 points), Ava Shapiro (11 points); Stevens – Kiley Bundy (11 points), Isabella Bovell (10 points)

Highlights: Stevens led 11-9 after the first quarter and 23-22 at halftime, but Kearsarge scored 22 points in the fourth quarter after taking a 35-34 lead in the third.

Records: Kearsarge 7-3; Stevens 7-4

Boys’ Basketball

Kearsarge 60, Newport 40

Key players: Kearsarge – Noah Whipple (31 points), Ajay Tremblay (10 points), Austin Needham (7 points), Eddie Kinzer (6 points), Drew Huff (3 points), Eli Whipplie (3 points), Parker Goin (rebounding and defense), Noah Rubenberg (rebounding and defense), Bragen Kinzer (rebounding and defense)

Highlights: The Cougars led 16-7 at the end of the first quarter, 34-23 at halftime, and by 11 in the third quarter before extending their lead in the fourth. Kearsarge has now won five in a row.

Records: Kearsarge 8-3; Stevens 4-7

Concord at Phillips Exeter

Key players: Concord – Caroline Cooper (1st 300 in 42.61 seconds, 4th 55 dash), Ella Goulas (1st high jump at 5-0), Morgan Doherty (2nd high long jump, 3rd 55 hurdles), Kelley Mikelson (3rd long jump, 4th high jump), Madeline Muller (3rd 600), Madeleine Short (4th 1,500), 4x200 (3rd), 4x400 (3rd)

Highlights:  Concord’s top athletes performed well in a qualifying meet at Phillips Exeter. No team scores were kept.

UNH Afternoon Meet

Key players: Kearsarge – Maelle Jacques (1st high jump at 5-0, 2nd 1,500), Amelia Lefebvre (2nd high jump), Riley Raynes (5th high jump), 4x400 (3rd); Bow – Julia Hou (1st 3,000 in 12:24), Charlotte Larochelle (3rd long jump), Hannah Pawlowski (4th 1,000), 4x160 (5th); Belmont – Ava Lacasse (4th 55 dash), Hannah Young (5th 55 dash), Adeline Takantjas (5th 55 hurdles), 4x160 (4th), 4x400 (6th); Pembroke – Jasmine Blake (6th high jump)

Highlights: The top track athletes from several area teams competed in a qualifying meet at UNH to improve their seeds for the Feb. 11 Division II championship.

UNH Morning Meet

Key players: Coe-Brown – Isabelle Grenier (1st shot put at 32-2), Bristol Shirland (2nd 55 hurdles); MV – Sydney Spack (4th 600), Madison Geddes (4th 1,500)

Highlights:  Grenier made the second-best toss in the shot put in D-II so far this season to claim the win at a state qualifying meet at UNH. The top athletes from Coe-Brown and MV competed.

Concord at Phillips Exeter

Key players: Concord – Deagan Hines (6th 55 dash), 4x200 (6th)

Highlights:  The Tide boys did well in the sprinting events at a state qualifying meet at Phillips Exeter. No team scores were kept.

UNH Afternoon Meet

Key players: Bow – Alden Betterley (1st 1,000 in 2:43), Kody McCranie (2nd 300), Thomas Sargent (5th 600), Sean Nicholls (6th shot put), 4x400 (2nd); John Stark – Eli Lemire (1st 1,500 in 4:34), Rio Calle (1st high jump at 6-0, 4th long jump), Sam Kinsey-Turner (2nd high jump), Joel Douzanis (2nd shot put), Logan Montgomery (3rd 300); Bishop Brady – Josh Gentchos (1st 55 dash in 6.61 seconds); Kearsarge – Daniel Dalbec (1st 3,000 in 9:24); Pembroke – Zachery Heichlinger (3rd shot put)

Highlights:  Several area teams competed in an afternoon meet at UNH in order to better their qualifying marks for the Division II state championship on Feb. 11.

Highlights:  The top athletes from Merrimack Valley and Coe-Brown competed in a qualifier meet at UNH on Saturday.

Boys’ Alpine Skiing

Key players: Bow – Seth Lowne (3rd, 98 points), Collin Atwell (4th, 97 points), Ian Soucy (10th, 91 points), Oliver Weiss (11th, 90 points)

Highlights:  The Falcons won a six-team giant slalom race at Crotched Mountain on Friday.

Girls’ Alpine Skiing

Souhegan 383, Bow 368, Hollis-Brookline 361, ConVal 352, Goffstown 335, Merrimack 166

Key players: Bow – Sophia Coombs (7th, 94 points), Vivian Madden (8th, 93 points), Ava Gadbois (10th, 91 points), Sierra Scull (11th, 90 points)

Highlights: The Falcons finished second in a giant slalom race on Friday at Crotched Mountain.
