Key players: Kearsarge – Liam Miller (singles and doubles winner), Eli Whipple (singles and doubles winner), Billy Reid (singles winner), Graham West (doubles winner), Thomas Shepherd (doubles winner)

Highlights: The Cougars closed out the regular season with a victory on the road. Kearsarge will have the No. 2 seed for the upcoming Division III tournament that starts next week. Ten of the Cougars’ 13 victories were by 9-0 scores.

Girls’ Tennis

Hollis-Brookline 9, Bow 0

Key players: Bow – Jaden Glace (No. 2 singles)

Highlights: After getting swept in singles, Bow played stronger in doubles as Glace and Grace Modzeleski lost 8-5 at No. 1 doubles. Maddy Desrosiers and Makaylie Laws played well in an 8-4 loss at No. 2.

Highlights: Exeter scored four runs in the top of the first inning and never looked back, adding five in the bottom of the third and two in the bottom of the fourth.

Highlights: Generals took an early 2-0 lead and had the chance to blow the game open, but a double play by MV kept it close. Dougherty’s home run tied it for MV, but the Generals used some small ball to take a 3-2 lead on Keim’s sacrifice fly in the fourth. Paolicelli went to the mound in the fifth and kept the Pride at bay and then belted a three-run bomb to right field as part of a six-run inning to decide the game.

Key players: Hopkinton – Paige Boudette (3-for-4, 2 walks, 2 stolen bases, 2 runs, RBI in game two)

Highlights: The Hawks led 5-1 in the first game of Monday’s doubleheader, but a couple of errors allowed Gilford to get back into the game. The Eagles held off a Hopkinton rally in the bottom of the seventh. Boudette played a strong two-way game in game two, making a running catch in right-center field and connecting for three hits, but the rest of the team struggled to get the clutch hits needed to bring runners home.

Coach’s quote: “(Game two) was a much better game overall. We made the plays we should be making but also (got) an incredible running catch in right-center by Paige Boudette. Gilford has a tough pitcher who throws hard and is just inconsistent enough to make her more difficult. Our batters were aggressive, but we just didn’t get the big hits when we needed it. Highlights: The score stayed tight early, with Hopkinton taking a 2-1 lead after the first quarter and a 4-2 lead at halftime. The Hawks opened up the scoring in the second half and had an 8-3 lead with 7:20 remaining. Plymouth made a strong push late in the game, but Hopkinton maintained control with smart passing and pressure defense.
