For the fifth consecutive year, Loudon native Ruth Dodge will be competing for Team USA in the fencing Veteran World Championships after taking second place at the USA Fencing National Championships on July 10. Dodge finished just behind Patricia Bedrosian in the Veteran 70 Women’s Foil.

Dodge, who trains locally at the Concord Fencing Club with coaches Shawn Brooks and Edmundo Martinez, will be competing at the Veteran World Championships in October in Maribor, Slovenia.

Dodge won a gold medal at the World Championships for her age group in the individual Women’s Foil in 2015, and notched a silver medal in the team event in 2016.
