Letter: On Jimmy Carter

Sad news about the passing of Jimmy Carter, but inevitable (he was 100). Unlike Joe Biden and Barack Obama, Jimmy Carter was a decent person who actually had the best of the country at heart, even if he was 1,000% wrong about how to deliver it. A few of the big issues that Biden and Obama have exacerbated in recent years have their roots in the Carter Administration; the creation of the Department of Energy and the 10:1 unionized administrator to teacher ratio; handing the Panama Canal to our adversaries despite 73% of all canal traffic being American; and the rise of the Mullahs in the Middle East. They rose to power overthrowing the Shah during the Carter years, released our hostages the day Ronald Reagan was inaugurated, and were hyper funded to the point they could afford to wage proxy wars against Israel under Obama/ Kerry/ Biden.
At least the man from Plains, Georgia was decent at heart, but that would not prevent his face from being placed upon the Mount Rushmore of Bad Presidents alongside FDR, LBJ, Barack Obama, Joe Biden, and James Buchanan if we ever build one. May he and Rosalyn rest in peace nevertheless.
