Multi-agency drug search leads to two arrests in Northfield

New Hampshire State Police arrested two people Thursday at a Northfield residence, where officers executed a search warrant as part of a months-long narcotics investigation.

Joshua Cross, 41, of Northfield was charged with sale of a narcotic drug, possession of a narcotic drug with intent to distribute and being a felon in possession of firearms. He was held for lack of $25,000 bail and scheduled to be arraigned Friday afternoon in Merrimack County Superior Court in Concord.

The New Hampshire State Police Narcotics Investigations Unit and SWAT team, as well as officers with the Northfield Police Department executed the search warrant at Cross’s 55 Ledge Road residence. Police applied for the warrant as part of an ongoing investigation into the sale of fentanyl and methamphetamine. Fentanyl and two handguns were seized from the home.

Police also arrested Paul Costella, 45, on a probation violation. Costella, whose last known address is Franklin, was placed on a 72-hour probation hold at the Merrimack County jail in Boscawen.
