Letter: Pembroke residents deserve better

Published: 3/15/2019 12:01:10 AM

The Pembroke School District and SAU 53 are still hiding information.

At the Pembroke School District meeting on March 9, residents asked for a copy or location of the 2016 and 2017 audits. The Pembroke residents were told, “It’s on the web page.” It wasn’t on the web page prior to this meeting and during the meeting, Superintendent Patty Sherman and Business Administrator Amber Wheeler were asked to show us (on their web page) where the report is. They could not.

A Pembroke resident can’t locate the so-called audit (which was truly a consulting report) of the shortfall in revenue in 2017/2018.

A Pembroke resident can’t locate the list of budget lines that were frozen for school year 2017/2018.

A Pembroke resident deserves more from the SAU 53.
