New Hampshire could, if we wanted, choose to be open to learning about and overcoming the negative consequences of burning fossil fuels, of cruising along with the legacy of implicit racism, of worshiping the one percent. It seems that New Hampshire prefers to remain in the 1950s.

Falling in line behind the autocratic republic of Florida, the allegedly genial Gov. Sununu has joined the anti-woke mob in support of the Republican oligarchy. In a recent Executive Order 2023-03, he has forbidden State of New Hampshire funds to be invested in accounts that consider environmental, social, and governance (ESG) values along with purely dollar returns. Is it truly “in the best interest of their constituencies” for state agencies to ignore any and all values other than the almighty dollar?
