Fancy Nancy and the Mermaid Ballet

What: Southern NH Youth Ballet brings this childhood favorite to life on stage in this magical ballet. Southern NH Youth Ballet will also perform the storybook classic, The Ugly Duckling.  Children of all ages will enjoy this sweet, short ballet as the ugly duckling grows into a beautiful swan right before their very eyes. There is also an opportunity to enjoy a “fancy” tea and a special meet and greet with Fancy Nancy and her friends 45 minutes prior to each show.  The tea is an additional $20 per person and is limited to 50 guests only. 

When: Sunday, April 2 at 1 p.m. or 4 p.m.

The Hot Tamale Brass Band

What: The Hot Tamale Brass Band takes their audience on an exciting excursion into New Orleans jazz, festive Mardi Gras, funky second line parades, traditional Dixieland jazz and reverent New Orleans jazz funeral traditions. You may have seen them playing at Fenway Park... they have performed over 1500 pre-game shows for the Boston Red Sox since 1999. 

When: Saturday, April 1, at 7:30 p.m.

 What:  With “tautness, flair, and precision”, this New England-based group opens the season with two masterpieces: Brahms’ Opus 8 Trio in B major, and the E-flat piano quartet of Mozart K.493, joined by Artistic Director Jonathan Bagg on viola.

 2023 Artist in Residency Exhibition

 What:   The Award- Winning Art Center in Dover, NH presents the 2023 Artist in Residency Exhibition, a fine art installation that showcases some of the best work of seasoned and up and coming seacoast artists.  Artist Amanda Kidd-Kestler, Micah Doucette, Johanna Finnegan-Topitzer and Laura Villalobos each spent four months at The Art Center in the Art Center’s Artist in Residency Program to create the body of work that is presented in this impressive collection.  The show highlights different styles of printmaking, watercolor, oil painting and drawing.

 When:   March 10 through the end of April with a reception on Saturday April 1, from 6 p.m.-9 p.m.

 Where:   The Art Center located at 1 Washington Street, Suite 1177, in Dover.
