Letter: Following another successful career

One of the writers of the AP story about the vice presidential debate in the Monitor last week was Kathleen Ronayne. She is a journalist who got her first job at the Monitor following her honors graduation from Syracuse University.

I was in the New Hampshire Legislature at the time and was impressed with the quality of her writing even then. She soon moved on as New Hampshire State House reporter for the AP. Next, she assumed a similar position at the California State House in Sacremento. Over the past summer, she has been assigned to the Washington AP Bureau covering the election.

Mike Pride had the knack of hiring promising young reporters. Kathleen is another winner. We are most fortunate in the ongoing quality of the reporting and commentary in the Monitor.
