Letter: Let’s try to cool off tempers

I would like to know what actions, if any, are being taken in advance of the armed march on Capitol Hill and all state capitols by right-wing groups on Jan. 17.

I, like many others, do not want to see what happened in Washington, D.C., happen here because the authorities did not take the threat seriously in advance. Perhaps messaging can go out in advance to tame the tempers and bring down the pulse.

At the very least, all authorities should be prepared for things to escalate and be able to safely suppress this dangerous situation to prevent property damage, injuries, or worse.

Perhaps someone can coordinate a music event or children’s event on that day so these individuals would think twice before bringing their weapons around children or people dancing and having a good time. Maybe some balloon animals? Everyone likes balloon animals.
