Local artists and poets have created a compilation of work inspired by The Fells.

Visual Verse is a 46-page full-color book that showcases the history of the Lake Sunapee region historic site.

Contributors include 12 visual artists and 18 poet members of the John Hay Poetry Society.

The book was printed by Echo Communications of New London and produced by the Center for the Arts and the Fells Historic Estate and Gardens with a grant from an anonymous source.

The book may be purchased for $15 at The Fells gift shop, Morgan Hill Book Store in New London; BookEnds in Warner, Gibson’s Book Store in Concord, and several other business locations in the Lake Sunapee area. Members of the Center for the Arts, The Fells and the John Hay Poetry Society may buy the book directly through those organizations for $10.

The Fells is the former estate and gardens of John Milton Hay, who was an ambassador to the U.K. and the assistant secretary of state to Rutherford Hayes and James Garfield.
