Two events culminated in a
day for veterans Friday as a walkup to the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I. First, Gov. Chris Sununu presented Col. Richard Perkins with a Medal of Valor and Purple Heart at Bishop Brady High School for his actions in the war in Afghanistan. Then, the governor joined U.S. Sen. Maggie Hassan, U.S. Rep. Carol Shea-Porter and Congressman-elect Chris Pappas at the Veterans Day Ceremony at the New Hampshire Veterans Home in Tilton to celebrate all veterans.
