A section of Route 3 near the intersection of Church Street in Tilton was reduced to one-way traffic Monday morning following a single-car crash into a utility pole.

The crash was reported just before 5 a.m. and did not result in any injuries to the driver, Tilton police Chief Robert Cormier said. However, he added, “It did do a lot of damage to a utility pole, so they are going to have to replace it.”

Eversource had crews working in the area near the Tilton Veterinary Hospital late Monday morning.

“To keep power flowing to our customers in the area while making repairs, workers used equipment on their bucket trucks to suspend the overhead wires being transferred onto a new pole,” Eversource posted on its Twitter account.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation, but Cormier said officers had ruled out drug and alcohol use as factors.
