■The Town of Allenstown Notice of Public Hearing for the 2023 Budget will be held on Jan. 14 at 9 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Parish Hall, 10 School St. The snow date is on Jan. 17 at 6 p.m.

■The Board of Selectmen will meet on Jan. 9 at 6 p.m. at the Town Hall.

■The Route 28 Bridge at the Suncook River has open for travel in both directions.

■The Town of Allenstown is looking for people to serve on the Town of Allenstown Energy Committee as part of the Community Choice Aggregation Project, reducing power rates. For more information call Town Hall at (603) 485-4276 ext. 116.

■The Christmas Lighting Contest winners are: 3 Bailey Ave. (first place), 6 Emile Dr. (second place) and 35 B River Rd (third place). The police department’s pick was 8 Notre Dame Ave.; and the fire department’s pick was 31 Al’s Ave. Congratulations to everyone, great job. The Christmas Lighting Contest is sponsored by the Allenstown Economic Development Committee.

■The Monthly Market will be held on Jan. 7 from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. and on Jan. 8 from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Parish Hall.

■The Suncook Senior Center will have brunch on Jan.10 at 10 a.m.

■Bird feeders will be made in Arts and Crafts, on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Suncook Senior Center.

■ServiceLink will be held on Jan. 12 at 11:30 a.m. at the Suncook Senior Center. Come in and talk to our local ServiceLink representative. It is your link to information and support services within your community.

■The Senior Center and the Meals on Wheels program will be closed on Jan. 16 for Martin Luther King Day.

■Fundraisers on the first and third Thursdays of the month are the time for raffles and help fundraise for the Center. The tickets will be two for $1, and the food items are made by volunteers and not CAP.

■Chichester Library hours for 2023 are Monday and Wednesday from 2:30 to 8:30 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m, Friday from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The library now offers free passes to the McAufiffe-Shepard Discovery Center, The Currier Museum in Manchester and The Aviation Museum in Londonderry. On Jan. 9 at 4:30 p.m., the library will have free tech help for seniors. Dr. David will help with questions about your laptop, phone or home computer.

■Chichester State Representatives are Clayton Wood and Cyril Aures. To receive updates, a newsletter is available to help keep us informed at ClaytonCyril4house.com.

■The proposed town budget, warrant articles, and zoning amendments are available for viewing at the town hall during business hours. The Budget Committee and BOS will meet on Jan. 10 at 6 p.m. to discuss the March town meeting budget and warrant articles.

■Chichester PTO will be meeting at the school on Jan. 10 at 6 p.m. School will be closed on Jan. 16 to celebrate Martin Luther King Day.

■The Chichester Fire/Rescue Department (FD) would like residents to know that scam calls are being made asking for funds in support of the department. The department does not raise funds in this method. Call the FD or Police if you receive a call and gather information from the caller to help locate the scammer.

■Photographer Gay Ayers will be sharing her photographs at the NH Society of Photographic Artist Event at the Town Hall Gallery in Exeter from Jan. 7 to 29.

■Chichester Judge Susan Carbon, has been an advocate for children for many years. WMUR-TV has been profiling her involvement with CASA in helping to ensure the child thrives in a safe home. Honorable Carbon has been acknowledged as NH CASA Judge of the Year through the years. Thank You for keeping our children safe.

■Chichester Central School wants to keep everyone in the loop with an announcement blog and their way of doing this is by providing us with the following site, busybee@blogtrottr@hotmail.com.

■The Chichester Fire/Rescue Association has an ongoing House Number Campaign for 2023. Highly reflective signs will display your address number and help Police and Fire personnel to locate your address during an emergency. The cost of the sign and bracket is $20 and a member of the department will come to assist with installation. Call or stop by the fire department to order a sign.

■Everett Hodge, Building Inspector, will have the following hours for 2023: Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. Contact information is 798-5350X4.

■Chichester has an opening for an Emergency Management Director. John Martell who served as director for 18 years has retired. John will be staying at the police department and is starting his 36th year serving the town.

■The fire/rescue department was busy during the month of December with 66 calls. The department recorded 26 calls in three days.

■Think Thursday at the library, “3D Printer Exploration.” Come try out the 3D printer we have on loan from the state library. We will use Tinkercad to design or choose a pre-existing design and participants will have the chance to print theirs out to take home.

■Lego Club at the library on Monday at 3:30 p.m. Join us each Monday for fun! The Library has a large selection of Legos. Snacks and drinks are included. All ages are welcome.

■Morning Storytimes are Monday and Wednesday at 10 a.m. and feature books, movement, snacks and crafts! Themes for this month include winter weather and creativity.

■Bedtime Storytime continues on Thursday at 6 p.m. Families are invited to a Storytime that will feature bedtime books and relaxing movement activities. Pajamas, blankets, and stuffies are highly encouraged.

■Movie Matinee at the library on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m., Ghost Town (2008).

■Teen/Adult Art Night on Monday, snowy winter landscape, at 6 p.m. Taught by Susan Bosiak. In this class, students will create their own unique winter landscape. Each month there will be a new theme for the afternoon, and several crafts to try out - to start, we are having a Renovate Your Room Crafternoon! We will be making accessories and decor that you can use to spruce up your bedroom for the new year. Origami desk organizers, personalized wall hangings and more. ■The Pittsfield High School All Class Reunion Committee has started meeting to plan the reunion. The All Class Reunion is being planned for July 2023. ■The Pittsfield Players are holding auditions for their next show The Curious Incident of The Dog in the Night-Time on Jan. 22 and 23 at 7 p.m. at the Scenic Theater, 6 Depot St. The cast needed is 13 men and women for this production, so spread the word to your friends and family! Come prepared to read from the script upon arrival!

■The Josiah Carpenter Library has their newest StoryWalk up and ready- How to Catch a Gingerbread Man. Grab a map at the community bulletin board on Main Street at Dustin’s Park. Follow the story all around town and finish up with a visit to the library for your free gift!

■The Pittsfield History Society 2023 Calendar is on sale now. The theme for the 2023 calendar is “Tour the New Museum” with 29 pictures depicting the museum and various displays. The calendar can be purchased at the Historical Society, the Josiah Carpenter Library and the Town Hall. The cost is $15.

■The town of Pittsfield’s Winter Parking Ban on town roads is effective through April 15. This ban prohibits parking in or on the town’s roads or right of way between the hours of 10 p.m. and 7 a.m. The purpose of this parking ban is to allow the winter or inclement weather maintenance crews unobstructed routes for snow removal and ice control, to maintain effectiveness of their routes.

Established by the former fourth-generation family owners of Globe Manufacturing Company in Pittsfield, the donor-advised fund is administered by the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation. ■The Senior Center needs volunteers! The areas needed are preparing items for the community meal, setting up for the meals, washing dishes, or helping with crafts. Training is provided, if interested please call 435-8482. The work is easy and gratifying and only takes two hours a week.

■The Victory Workers 4-H group and The Dowboro Farm have created a farm stand at 615 Dowboro Rd. We are open Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

■The Parks & Recreation Committee will meet on Jan. 10 at 6:15 p.m. at the Community Center.
