■Town of Allenstown notice of public hearing on the Town and School 2023 Budgets will be held on Jan. 14 at 9 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Parish Hall, 10 School St.

■The Town Office and the School will be closed on Jan. 16 in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

■Board of Selectmen will meet on Jan. 17 at 6 p.m. The Heritage Commission will meet at the Historical Society at 7 p.m. on Jan. 19. The Trustee of Trust Funds will be at town hall on Jan. 20 at 9 a.m. School Board meeting Jan. 18 at 6 p.m. at the school.

■Free Ice Fishing Day in New Hampshire is on Jan. 21. Deer Meadow Pond located on Deer Meadow Road and Lynxfield Pond off of Center Road are two ponds known to have great ice fishing.

■The Board of Selectmen have announced appointment of Co-Emergency Directors. Alan Quimby, fire chief, can be reached at 344-2959 and Joshua Wright, police chief, at 798-4911.

■The Chichester Central School informed community members and staff of a current budget freeze of the current budget that ends on June 30. Many unexpected expenses involving transportation for homeless students, foster care replacement and special education needs. Questions can be answered by contacting the Director of Student Services, Jessica Bickford at 485-5187.

■The PTO is looking for donations of storage equipment. The PTO supports students and staff in many ways during the year with various activities and storage equipment is needed for special projects.

■Supervisors of the checklist will meet on Jan. 24 at the town office from 7 to 7:30 p.m. for correction of the checklist for town election. Change in party registration may be accepted RSA 669:5.

■The Old Meeting House Revitalization Committee will meet on Thursday at 5 p.m. at the town office meeting room.

■The Conservation committee will meet on Thursday at 6 p.m. at the town office meeting room.

■There is new information available to Epsom residents regarding fuel and electric assistance through Merrimack County Community Action. Call (603) 223-0043 for more information.

■The library will be closed on Monday in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

■Morning Story time on Wednesday at 10 a.m. and features books, movement, snacks and crafts! Themes for this month include winter weather and creativity.

■Bedtime Storytime continues on Thursday at 6 p.m. Families are invited to a story time that will feature bedtime books and relaxing movement activities. Pajamas, blankets, and stuffies are highly encouraged.

■The Knitters Group will continue to meet on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. Crochet, quilting, and fabric crafters of all sorts are welcome!

■Movie Matinee at the library on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. Jerry & Marge Go Large (2022). When retiree Jerry Selbee discovers a mathematical loophole in the Massachusetts lottery, he and his wife Marge go on an exciting multi-million dollar winning spree with the goal to revive their small Michigan town.

That Reminds Me of a Story with Rebecca Rule at the Pembroke Town Library, sponsored by NH Humanities Council on Jan. 24 from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Rule has made it her mission over the last 20 years to collect stories of New Hampshire, especially those that reflect what’s special about this rocky old place. She’ll tell some of those stories - her favorites are the funny ones - and invite audience members to contribute a few stories of their own. ■The American Legion Peterson-Cram Post 75 is working with the Pittsfield Town Selectmen to update the Dustin Park War Memorial Wall. We are currently in the process of collecting names of personnel who served in the military, honorably in all wars including Desert Shield/Desert Storm (1990 to 1991) and the Global War on Terror (2001 to present). The criteria to add a name to ‘The Wall’, is a copy of the service member’s Form DD-214 and must reflect their home of record as Pittsfield NH. If you meet this criteria or have a relative that served and meets this criteria, please submit a copy of the service member’s Form DD-214 to the Town Administrator, Town Hall, 85 Main St., Pittsfield, NH 03263 or fax (603) 435-7922. ■The little free libraries here in Pittsfield have been stocked with donations from 4H members as well as contributions from members of the community. They are located in the laundromats at Bell Brothers as well as Danis Supermarket. Please help yourself to some books for your family.

■The Pittsfield High School All Class Reunion Committee has started meeting to plan the Reunion. The All Class Reunion is being planned for July 2023. ■The Pittsfield Players are holding auditions for their next show The Curious Incident of The Dog in the Night-Time on Jan. 22 and 23 at 7 p.m. at the Scenic Theater, 6 Depot St. The cast needed is 13 men and women for this production. Come prepared to read from the script upon arrival!

■Pittsfield Supervisors of the Checklist will be in session on Jan. 24 from 7 to 7:30 p.m. at the Town Hall to register new voters and make any necessary corrections. Change in party affiliation will be accepted at this session. This is the last day to register or make corrections before the filing period for town and school district offices.

■The Josiah Carpenter Library has their newest StoryWalk up and ready How to Catch a Gingerbread Man. Grab a map at the community bulletin board on Main Street at Dustin’s Park. Follow the story all around town and finish up with a visit to the library for your free gift!

■The Senior Center needs volunteers! The areas needed are preparing items for the community meal, setting up for the meals, washing dishes, or helping with crafts. Training is provided, if interested please call 435-8482. The work is easy and gratifying and only takes two hours a week.
