■Boscawen homeowners! A public hearing on the proposed 2023 Budget will be held on Feb. 2 after 6 p.m. The hearing will be held at the Municipal Office Building, fourth-floor meeting room, 116 N. Main St., Boscawen, NH 03303. In the event that attendance exceeds the capacity of the meeting room, there will be overflow seating on the third floor at the Boscawen Public Library. The public has the option to listen to the hearing via Go-To-Meeting. For more information, visit the town’s website at townofboscawen.gov, and click on the public hearing option.

CANTERBURY Book clubs to meet

■The Clover Buds 4-H club is back. Anyone ages five to seven (as of Jan. 1) is welcome to join. We will be meeting on the first Monday of each month from 5 to 6 p.m. Our first meeting will be on Feb. 6 at 5 p.m. at the Canterbury Parish House. These meetings will focus on learning the fundamentals of 4-H. There will be activities and crafts each week. We hope to see everyone there. ■The library’s next Sweet Grass meeting is on Jan. 26 at 5:30 p.m. Meetings are on the third Thursday of each month in the Meeting Room.

■On Jan. 25 at 6 p.m. at the library the Evening Book Group will be discussing the book The Light of Luna Park by Addison Armstrong. Copies are available at the Circulation Desk.

■Murder, Mayhem and Misadventure will meet on Jan. 24 at 2 p.m. We will start the year off with a discussion of the latest books we have read and profiling an older author and a newer one, also we will lay out what’s coming up in the next few months.

WEBSTERFiling period for town officials

■The filing period for elected town officials is from Jan. 25 to Feb. 3. Positions on the ballot will be: Selectman (three years), Supervisor of the Checklist (three years), Tax Collector (three years), Town Clerk (three years), Treasurer (three years), Trustee of Trust Funds (three years), Cemetery Trustee (three years), Library Trustee (one year), and Library Trustee (three years).

■The Book Group at the library has been ebbing and flowing since it began in 1997. Right now attendance is low and the librarian would like to know what can be done to rejuvenate it. Please let her know on the library page on Facebook or call at 648-2706.

■Speaking of the library, have you been in to see the Library of Things? On the back of the bookcase where all the things are stored are a multitude of puzzles so stop by and borrow one.

■A Deputy Tax Collector is needed for the Town of Webster. The collector will work approximately 100 hours in 2023 at $25 an hour. Bank teller experience is preferred but not necessary. Contact Karen King, Tax Collector, at the Town Hall. Email kking@webster-nh.gov or call (603) 648-2054.

■The next library trustee’s meeting will be on Jan. 25 at 4 p.m. in the meeting hall next to the library. Everyone is welcome.
