■If you are looking for school vacation fun for the kids, head to the Boscawen Public Library for two activities for them on the calendar. There is a Lego build on Tuesday starting at 2 p.m. when kids can create their unique designs and display them. There will be snacks, too! Movie time on the big screen is on Thursday at 2 p.m. Enjoy some popcorn while watching the show!

■Boscawen Town Meeting, a New England tradition, will be held on March 14. Voting will take place at the Boscawen Public Library between the hours of 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Town Meeting will convene at the Boscawen Elementary School at 7:30 p.m. once ballots are counted. Information on who is running for town offices, selectperson and what the warrant articles are can be viewed in the lobby of the Town Municipal Office Building.

CANTERBURYHistory presentation

■“Wild Backyard Medicinal Herbs” was postponed due to snow and is on April 6 at 6 p.m. in the Town Hall with Maria Noël Groves, RH (AHG), clinical herbalist and best-selling author.

■Town Meeting in New Hampshire: Rebecca Rule on March 9 at 6 p.m. at the Town Hall. Rule regales audiences with stories of the rituals, traditions, and history of town meetings, including the perennial characters, the literature, the humor, and the wisdom of this uniquely New England institution. Rebecca Rule hosted the New Hampshire Authors Series for 10 years on NM PBS and now hosts Our Hometown on NM PBS She’s been telling stories in New England, especially NH, for more than 30 years.

■The next Board of Elkins Public Library Board of Trustees is on Feb. 27 at 6 p.m.

■Fans of Mystery, Mayhem and Misadventure, the write-ups for our February meeting (Feb. 28) are ready for pickup at the library. Read the short mystery of 11 pages, form your opinion as to who “did it,” we will finish off the puzzle for clues and see if you’re right! This could be your first meeting with us or perhaps you are a regular.

■ Legos will be at the library Feb. 28 from 10 a.m. to noon.

■March 2 at 2 p.m. is Movie Day, join us for an afternoon movie at the library. We’ll be showing The Bad Guys ( PG). Popcorn will be provided.

■Elkins Café. We start with coffee, tea, biscuits and conversation. We will meet on March 2 at 2 p.m. for a special guest. The special person is a very special friend of Elkins Public Library who usually fills the house!

■The Old Man Boring Book Club will meet on March 2 at 6 p.m. This group enjoys titles from our collection but also maintains its own collection of private books. Come see what it’s all about.

■Please come join the Fire Explorer Post 74 for their annual Ralph Downs Memorial spaghetti dinner on March 4 at the Salisbury Town Hall, from 5 to 7 p.m. The cost is $8 for adults, and $5 for children under 12. For more information please see salisburynh.org.

■The Board of Selectmen will meet on March 1 at 7 p.m. at Academy Hall. Please see the Town’s webpage for agendas, minutes and Zoom information at salisburynh.org.

■The Supervisors of The Checklist will meet at Academy Hall on March 4 from 11 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. This meeting is for new voter registrations, address changes, and name changes. This is an opportunity to avoid lines and delays on the Annual School Boarding meeting and Voting Day on March 7th at the High School and also on Town meeting Day which is March 14 at Salisbury’s Town Hall. ■The MVSD Annual Meeting is scheduled for March 10 to be held at Merrimack Valley High School Polls are open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. to vote for School Board members. The Business Meeting to discuss and vote on this year’s school district budget starts at 7 p.m. For more information please see the MVSD website at mvsdpride.org.

■Salisbury’s Annual Town Meeting will be held on March 14. Polls will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The business meeting to discuss and vote on the 2023 town budget will begin at 7 p.m. This meeting will be held at the Salisbury Town Hall which is located at 645 Old Turnpike Rd. ■Salisbury Citizen of the Year voting will be available in the foyer of the Academy. Voting will start two weeks before Town Meeting Day (March 14).

■The Salisbury Old Home Day Committee will be accepting nominations for the Citizen of the Year Award at the Annual Town meeting in March 2023. The winner will be honored at Salisbury’s Old Home Day and ride in the parade on Aug. 14. The citizen of the Year will receive a beautiful granite clock with their name inscribed for a keepsake. As well as a write-up in the town’s annual report which becomes a permanent part of town history.

■The Salisbury Free Library is starting its own version of the “1000 Books before Kindergarten” program for our youngest patrons! Any child ages newborn to five who has not yet started Kindergarten can participate, and all books read with/to the participating child count (even if it’s the 100th reading). ■The Salisbury Free Library is currently accepting resumes and seeking highly qualified applicants for the position of part-time Library Director. Reporting directly to the Board of Trustees, the Library Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Library operations to efficiently and effectively serve the public needs. We are seeking a candidate with strong communication skills and progressively responsible library service. ■The Webster Historic Society’s virtual silent auction will take place from March 4 to 12. Log on to 32auctions.com/Webster to see the items that are up for auction. Pick-up of items will be on March 19 at the Webster Town Hall from 10 a.m. to noon. Shipping is also available at an additional charge. ■A reminder that parking in the right of way until April 1 is prohibited to allow the Road Agent to maintain our roads.

■Bob Quinn, as associate of the Webster Conservation Commission is helping to identify valuable wildlife corridors in town and the habitats certain species require. If you would like to participate, the commission would be glad to have your help. You can do this from your kitchen window or backyard or by coming along on our field trips.
