The operator of a tractor-trailer was transported to an area hospital following a rollover early Monday morning on Interstate-89 north in Hopkinton.

Around 5 a.m., state police responded to reports that a commercial vehicle had struck a guardrail and overturned, blocking both lanes of traffic, a news release said. The tractor-trailer was traveling northbound in the right lane as it approached a right-hand curve in the roadway and struck a guardrail. The operator of the vehicle overcorrected and overturned the truck, which came to rest across the interstate with the driver’s side door against the pavement.

The driver was extricated from the vehicle and transported to the hospital with minor injuries. The interstate was closed for two hours while the truck was removed from the roadway and has since been reopened.

As a result of the preliminary investigation, police determined that neither speed nor alcohol contributed to the crash.

The state police were assisted by the Commercial Motor Carrier Unit, Hopkinton and Concord fire departments, the New Hampshire Department of Transportation and the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services.
