Hundreds of soldiers from the Army National Guard made it back home after ten months in the Middle East.

They arrived at the Manchester armory into the waiting arms of family, friends and loved ones.

Brielle Torressen of Belmont held her son Revere as she waited to see her husband Andrew again.

She had a lot of support when her husband was away, but couldn’t be happier he was back.

“We’ve had amazing family around us. We’ve had a great church family,” she said. “Honestly, the thing that just got me through this was Revere, and envisioning this moment the whole time, just envisioning him coming home.”

The 3rd Battalion of 197th Field Artillery Regiment includes about 370 soldiers, including 84 guardsmen from Michigan. Those from New Hampshire were hailed at a send-off ceremony in April at the Capitol Center for the Arts in Concord.

The most recent trip overseas marked the battalion’s third deployment since 2010. The rocket unit supported the goals of Operations Spartan Shield and Inherent Resolve, which maintain a military posture in the Middle East while combatting the Islamic State.
