Choose Schadler in Webster

In this year’s election for the Webster Select Board, please join me in voting for Chris Schadler on March 13. Although our paths had crossed a few times, I became better acquainted with Chris last September when she approached me about the need to move forward on acquiring land for a new salt shed in a better location with space for future expansion. This was at the top of her list if elected to the select board. We walked a possible location and discussed several other sites.

Chris is our current chairperson of the conservation commission. She has a lifetime of academic and teaching accomplishments, and has taught sciences at the high school and college level. She had many years of participation and leadership in municipal governments before she came to Webster. She volunteers for our townwide cleanup each spring and volunteers at the Webster School. Later this month, she will be the featured speaker at the Cottrell-Baldwin Lecture Series in Hillsboro.

While the other candidate for the select board claims extensive knowledge of town government, he has no participation other than as an equipment operator with the highway department of a neighboring town. In the 6 months ending in February, Chris attended 10 of the 13 biweekly select board meetings while the other candidate attended only two meetings in January.

Chris has a proven record of far more experience than noted here but you won’t hear about it unless you ask her.
