Letter: Support Walsh, West for Concord School Board

We urge Concord voters to support school board candidates Pam Walsh (at-large), and Kate West (our own District A, which includes Wards 1, 2, 3, and 4). We are so thankful to these two outstanding candidates for stepping up to run.

Both Walsh and West are parents of young children, and outspoken advocates for racial justice and equity efforts. They are committed to increasing the transparency of the school board’s communication and policy making.

We strongly support West’s belief that the district should address behavioral issues in a non-punitive way, and Walsh’s plan to have the board post meeting summaries on social media and create more forums for parent questions.

Walsh and West will put the health and well-being of Concord students above all else. They will strengthen collaboration, trust, and communication between the district and community.

We urge Concord voters to join us in supporting these two exemplary candidates for school board.
