Letter: Whitley has devoted her life to public service

Although New Hampshire is a small state, we have a large but accessible legislative body. This means all Granite Staters have the opportunity to make impactful change by collaborating with their local representatives and senators.

It is the primary role of our representatives to hear about the community’s lived experiences and bring those concerns to the State House. I am proud to support Becky Whitley for Senate District 15 on Sept. 8 because I know first-hand she cares deeply about the people of this state, and has the unique ability to listen and translate the challenges people experience into tangible policy solutions.

Becky has devoted her life to public service. As a mother and a devoted Granite Stater, she possesses the awareness required to build a thriving, resilient community for her family and beyond. I worked with Becky on issues related to improving health care access, education, and juvenile justice. With both vigor and compassion, she amplified voices in the community and experiences often left unheard.

Importantly, she’s also aware of her privilege and is intentional about engaging and empowering marginalized voices. I’ve never known her to be afraid of what she doesn’t know and she equips herself with the tools, partners, and information necessary to seek justice for all Granite Staters.

Now is the time to give Becky the opportunity to flex her craft and passion to turn values into legislative action. In good faith, I can say Becky is the ideal candidate to represent the city of Concord in the New Hampshire Senate.
