The works of New Hampshire Art Association pastel artist Chris Reid will be on display at the Greater Concord Chamber of Commerce from March 24 through June 18, in an exhibit titled, “Light Rhythms.”

Chris Reid is known for her landscapes and still life paintings. Reid received a bachelor’s degree in art education at SUNY College in Buffalo, N.Y., and trained at the University of Siena, Italy, the American School of Crafts at the Rochester Institute of Technology in New York and the State Colleges at Brockport and Buffalo, N.Y.

Reid’s work is noted for “its intense color and masterful use of light.” Art New England Magazine describes Reid’s work as being “rich in color.” and her landscapes have been praised for the “powerful abstract elements.”

In addition to being a juried member of the N.H. Art Association, Reid is a juried associate of the Pastel Society of America, a member of the Pastel Society of New Hampshire, a member of the Connecticut Pastel Society and a member of Monadnock Art/FDAC.

The juror’s statement for her recently received Lovely Lines Award by the Pastel Societies of N.H. and Vermont Joint Show read: “This piece shows such a profuse and complex use of ‘these lines,’ that, when combined with a mature use of color, value and temperature ... the viewer is brought into the experience: both the experience of the wetland depicted, and the experience of the act of creating ... a work of art.”

The gallery hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. All artwork is for sale by contacting the New Hampshire Art Association at 431-4230.
