Twiggs Gallery’s upcoming art exhibit, “Possessed,” touches on the idea of possessions and obsessions through deeply personal relationships with things both physical and conceptual. The exhibit opens Saturday, Oct. 3, with an open house artists’ reception from 1 to 3 p.m.

Each of the six participating artists engages the subject differently through the lens of personal experience and with a variety of media. A penguin collection, childhood toys, grandmother’s china, words, religious objects and a favorite cat are among the collections that possess the artists in ways both large and small. Participating artists are Adele Sanborn, Suzanne Pretty, Susan Huppi, Elaine Caikauskas, Donna Catanzaro and Gail Smuda.

The show runs through Nov. 1. All visitors to the gallery are asked to please wear a mask.
