Concord Police found unidentified human remains buried in the backyard of the residence at 58 Airport Road Saturday during a multi-day investigation at the location.

As part of an unspecified ongoing investigation, a search of the site began Thursday afternoon, with Concord assisted by the UNH Forensic Anthropology Identification and Recovery Lab, according to Deputy Chief of Police John Thomas. An initial autopsy has been completed, but the cause of death and the identity of the deceased are currently being withheld.

Concord Police and the state Attorney General’s office confirmed that, as of Monday afternoon, a homicide investigation had not been opened. The Attorney General’s office is aware of the death and monitoring the situation, spokesman Michael Garrity said.

The investigation into the death is open and active, but there is no threat to the public, Concord Police said Monday.
