The Business and Industry Association elected a new slate of officers and board members. Officers approved by the membership for one year terms are: Chairman Andrew Curland, CEO & President, Vitex Extrusion; Chairwoman-Elect Sheryl McQuade, Northern New England Regional President, TD Bank; Past-Chairwoman Ginamarie Alvino, VP & Director of Legal Reform, The RiverStone Group; Treasurer Karl Heafield, Principal, Baker Newman Noyes; Secretary Scott Ellison, Partner, Cook Little Rosenblatt and Manson PLLC; and President Jim Roche, President, Business & Industry Association of NH. The membership also approved two new members to the association’s executive committee: Joe Shean, President, R.P. Abrasives and Gerri Vaughn, President & CEO, Tufts Health Freedom Plan. Newly elected members to the full board are Heather Staples Lavoie, Chief Executive Officer and President, Geneia; Michael O’Reilly, Senior Vice President, Bangor Savings Bank; Kim Roy, General Manager, DoubleTree by Hilton Downtown Hotel; Cheryl Coletti-Lawson, Chief Operating Officer, The Lawson Group; and Peter Frid, President & CEO, New Hampshire PBS.

Ocean State Job Lot Charitable Foundation is in the process of distributing more than $1.5 million worth of PPE to police and fire departments in the 142 communities where Ocean State Job Lot stores are currently, or soon-to-be, located across the Northeast. The donations include 6,000 surgical masks, 3,200 KN95 masks, 40 gallons of hand sanitizer, 20 face shields and 30 infrared non-contact thermometers, a total retail value of over $11,000, to each community.
