PR Management Corporation, the leading franchisee of Panera Bread in New England, presented $25,800 to the New Hampshire Food Bank as part of its Feeding America initiative. The New Hampshire Food Bank, a program of Catholic Charities New Hampshire, is the only food bank within the state of New Hampshire. Over the past two months, PR Management Corp. has donated a total of $111,200 to different food banks not only in New Hampshire, but in Massachusetts and Maine as well. The bakery-cafes of Portsmouth, Bedford, Concord, Manchester, Keene, Nashua, West Lebanon, Plaistow, Dover, Salem, Seabrook and Derry collected funds from customers through in-store canisters, which was matched by Panera to be donated.
Merrimack County Savings Bank donated $10,000 to the Concord Regional Visiting Nurse Association in support of a $25,000 matching grant from the Lodestar Foundation. The grant monies will offset expenses associated with their merger with Central NH Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice, to expand and improve care and services throughout the state. The Lodestar Foundation awards grants that help fund systemic changes in the way that nonprofits conduct business. Funds are often leveraged by establishing challenge and matching grant requirements.
NHTI announces that the board of trustees of the Community College System of N.H. approved two new members to NHTI’s College Advisory Board at their January meeting. Charles Seugling, regional manager at Bar Harbor Bank & Trust has been named to the board. He brings with him an awareness of community engagement, relationship building, and strategic partnerships. Allen Desbiens, senior analyst of regulatory affairs at Eversource Energy, has also been named to the board. Desbiens will bring his skill for managing relationships with stakeholders and building and maintaining lines of communication.
