New London Hospital achieved gold-level recognition from the American Heart Association workplace health achievement index for its steps to build a culture of health in the workplace.

Eastern Bank’s charitable foundation has provided grants to nonprofits to help against issues that disproportionally impact women, including American Red Cross, Crisis Center of Central New Hampshire, New Hampshire Women’s Foundation, HAVEN, New Heights Adventures for Teens, Bridges Domestic and Sexual Violence Support Services, Dismas Home of N.H., Girls at Work and New Generation.

The New Hampshire High Tech Councilhas opened the application period for its annual TechOut event, a startup competition aimed at enhancing the state’s tech ecosystem by awarding young startups with significant investment capital prizes. Now in its seventh year, this year’s event features a $300,000 investment pool to be given out in the form of investment capital awards to the winners. The culminating TechOut event will be held Nov. 15 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Oracle+Dyn, 150 Dow St., Manchester.
