Concord fire officials responded to reports of smoke in the area of Clinton and Fruit streets Tuesday evening and located a chimney fire in a nearby home.

Firefighters said they found heavy smoke coming from the brick chimney at the white Cape Cod-style house at 65 Clinton St. just before 8 p.m.

The homeowner was unaware the heavy smoke billowing out of the chimney, firefighters said. There was no damage to the interior of the home, but the fire department used a ladder truck to monitor the situation.

The home is owned by Kerry March, according to Concord public records.
