Letter: Dirty water at Camp Lejeune

I write as a proud pre-Nam, post Civil War Marine Corps veteran having served three years, nine months and 11 days. That said, I’m a dirty water at Camp Lejeune victim, having served there for about 15 months from April 1959 to July 1960, in that I have been diagnosed with both lung cancer and bladder cancer. Sadly, within the Marines themselves, this dirty water at Camp Lejeune thing is causing a rift; either you believe in the problem or you don’t. My family medical history does not include cases of lung nor bladder cancers.

I hope to live long enough to see how the Navy settles the dirty water legal problem, having resolved zero cases to date, and to see how him, who you know as Donald Trump, deals with his four indictments and 91 charges. That’s the same Donald Trump, him from Queens me from Brooklyn, who claimed a foot problem to avoid the Vietnam era draft. I support the recent news of issues with the 14th Amendment technically blocking Donald Trump from running for president a second time. It’s truly sad the state of our nation based on his claims, desires and efforts. Our current mess can no longer be referred to as “party politics.” It now has to be called “Trump politics.”
