Letter: The bird is the word

I suspect that Abraham Lincoln was considered an odd duck by some, but until last Friday’s Monitor, I had never heard him referred to as “a relatively unknown Illinois pelican.”

I also suspect that Mr. Pelchat meant to characterize him as a politician in his piece on freedom and liberty and that something went wrong before the newspaper got to the delivery stage. In any case, it was certainly an amusing miscue.
