For the 5th straight year, the Community College System of New Hampshire is freezing its tuition rate.

In-state tuition will remain at $215 per credit, which equates to $6,450 for the school year for a full-time course load. The state says 93% of students at the seven community colleges, including NHTI in Concord, are state residents.

The freeze was unanimously approved by the Finance Committee of the CCSNH Board of Trustees, preceding a vote by the full board later this summer. The state budget passed by the state legislature and signed by Gov. Sununu includes funds the system had sought to make the tuition freeze possible.

The state’s four-year public colleges have also frozen tuition for five years in a row, a move announced last winter. 

New Hampshire has long had one of the nation’s highest in-state tuition for its public colleges, largely a factor of relatively small amounts of state support.
