Concord police joined with a regional special operations unit and the state police SWAT team to raid two separate apartments about 4 a.m. Thursday.

Between those drug busts and other efforts over the past two days, 10 people were arrested on charges related to sale or possession of methamphetamine, heroin or fentanyl, Lt. Sean Ford said.

The arrests netted roughly 100 grams of methamphetamine, 10 grams of fentanyl, two handguns and $8,500 in cash, Ford said.

Under the cover of night, two teams of roughly 30 officers each searched the two apartments almost simultaneously, Ford said. The police had existing warrants for some of the suspects and uncovered incriminating evidence about the others during the searches, the lieutenant said.

The apartments were located at 12 East Side Drive and 22 Concord Gardens.

“Hopefully it sends a statement to those that are dealing (methamphetamine) in the community that we’re taking a very tough, aggressive stance against that,” Ford said. “Our methamphetamine incidents are far outnumbering our heroin problem at this point.”

Two of the five people arrested in the raids were charged with selling methamphetamine: 28-year-old Derek Paradis of Concord and 45-year-old Wendee Reno of Concord.

Reno was also arrested in another raid Jan. 25 on drug-related charges, according to a previous report.

Six other people were arrested on meth-related charges over the past two days, Ford said.

Ford said police had warrants for six people that they expected they might find in the raids, but only three were found.

“We still have a lot of active arrest warrants,” he said. “We’re actively looking for several people, who we hope we can find.”
