■At the Franklin Opera House, back by popular demand, is Dueling Pianos. If you missed them last year, you won’t want to miss them this year. A great night’s entertainment. Purchase tickets now for their Jan. 14 performance at 7:30 p.m., at franklinoperahouse.org. There are many volunteer opportunities as well.

■Over the last year, members of the Franklin school community have attended site visits and conferences across the country to learn how others are doing high school differently with great results. On Jan. 18 from 6 to 8 p.m., we are hosting an opportunity to learn about some of these schools and programs through short videos, a panel discussion and individual conversations with members of the Franklin school community; including students, parents, teachers and administrators. Refreshments and good conversation guaranteed! For questions, please contact info@educatingforgood.com.
