National Pie Day

■Time to register for the 44th Annual Webster Lake Fishing Derby taking place on Feb. 18 and 19. Visit websterlakeicefishingderby.com for more information and to pre-register. Pre-buy prices: Adults are $12 and youth are $5.

■National Pie Day at the TRIP Center on Jan. 23 at 10:30 a.m. Bring your pies to the center for the contest. There will be first, second and third-place winners. Pies will be served after lunch.

■The Planning Board meets on Jan. 25 at 7 p.m. at City Hall. Visit franklinnh.org for the agenda and previous minutes. Call (603) 934-2341 with any questions.

■The 61st Annual Franklin Winter Carnival runs from Feb. 4 through March 5. Visit franklinoutingclub.org for the full schedule and reserve those dates for great local entertainment.

■Two upcoming blood drives this month: Jan. 25 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Salisbury Volunteer Fire Dept. 273 Old Turnpike Rd., at Tanger Outlet in Tilton on Jan. 28 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Visit redcrossblood.org to schedule an appointment.

■The Book Club meets the second Thursday of each month at 1:30 p.m. at the Franklin Public Library. Stop by to pick up the February read: The Patchwork Bride by Sandra Dallas. Make new friends and enjoy a lively discussion.
