If you’re a Granite Stater who enjoys antiquing and has a unique collection to offer, this may be your opportunity to be featured on American Pickers.
The popular reality TV show featured on the History Channel that covers antiquing coast to coast is returning to New Hampshire this August and is looking for potential leads from collectors.
The show starring brothers Mike and Robbie Wolfe, along with Danielle Colby, store manager of Mike’s brand Antique Archaeology, features the brothers traveling across the country in a van following promising leads that collectors have submitted.
This summer the cast is continuing to film the show’s 24th season. Producer Jasmina Joseph said the team tends to circle back to states like New Hampshire that have provided television-worthy leads in the past. Joseph emphasized that the show is looking for one-of-a-kind pieces. “We are looking for different, unusual, and unique items – something we’ve never seen before with an extraordinary story!”
According to Mike Wolfe’s bio on the History Channel, “He looks for things with a story; things that fill in some of the blanks in the everyday history of America.” That includes items like old motorcycles, baby carriages, bikes, dolls, or anything else with a rich history and a good story to tell.
With 362 total episodes and 23 seasons filmed over 13 years, the cast has appeared in New Hampshire six times on The History Channel, ranging from their first season to their 22nd season.
In “Hidden Harley,” season 22, episode 2, a pre-revolutionary homestead in Southern New Hampshire was showcased. Beth, the homeowner, guided both Mike and Jersey Jon, Mike’s friend and experienced antiquer, through the almost 300-year-old home that she believes has hosted four generations of families.
The historic barn gave way to hundreds of years of history preserved by the machinery and relics stored inside. One find was a Hay-Budden anvil with an 1870 time stamp and signature Pritchel holes along the legs.
