The Saints only recorded three hits and struck out 15 times, but managed to take advantage of John Stark miscues to hand the Generals their first loss of the season.

Plymouth 6, Merrimack Valley 5

Highlights: Plymouth jumped out to a 4-0 lead after the first inning. The Pride chipped away, but couldn’t plate the tying run in the home half of the seventh.

Highlights: Hanover walked Devin Riel to give Pembroke the walkoff victory in the bottom of the eighth. The Spartans tied the game, 6-6, in the bottom of the sixth to force extra innings after Hanover took an early 4-0 lead. Pembroke snapped a three-game losing skid with the victory.

Belmont 4, Gilford 2

Highlights: The Raiders came from behind late in the game to beat Gilford. Waldron smacked the second pitch of the game over the fence for his first home run of the season. Down 2-1 with two outs in the sixth inning, Belmont loaded the bases. Max Ryder got hit by a pitch which drove in the tying run. In the seventh,Waldron singled, and stole second and third. Underhill reached base on a fielder’s choice and stole second. Embree hit a sacrifice fly to right field, scoring Waldron and advancing Underhill, making the score 3-2. Divers followed with an RBI single, scoring Underhill for some insurance. Belmont ended the game by executing a double play.

Highlights: The Hawks flew out to a 7-3 lead after the first quarter and extended their lead throughout the game. Brady played active defense and battled hard, but Hopkinton’s proficiency on the draw circle and pressure ride delivered many possessions, and the Hawks converted those possessions into goals.

Highlights: Second-ranked Portsmouth swept singles, with Lilly Gula the closest (8-3 loss at No. 3). Desrosiers and Grace DeCosta each fell 8-2. The Falcons fared better in doubles with Desrosiers and Laws losing 8-5 at No. 1 doubles. Gula and Sierra Scull lost 8-4 at No. 2.

Pelham 6, Bishop Brady 3

Key players: Bishop Brady – Avery Sahr (8-2 win at No. 2), Emma Burnett (8-6 win at No. 4), Juliette McLaughlin and Kenzie Packer (8-4 win at No. 3 doubles)

Highlights: The Giants kept it close through singles, trailing just 4-2, but Pelham won the deciding match in doubles.
