Field Hockey

Concord 3, Nashua North 0

Key players: Concord – Gracen Arndt (2 goals), Lexi Magee (goal)

Highlights: All three Tide goals were scored as a result of corners.

Records: Concord 3-1; Nashua North 0-5

Girls’ Soccer

Merrimack Valley 2, Kennett 1, OT

Key players: MV – Colby Magoon (goal), Izzy Navoy (goal), Sydney Bailey (assist), Calli Gray (defense)

Highlights: Kennett scored first and early in the game with a beautiful shot from an almost no-angle position. The Pride played with more urgency towards the net, but had trouble shooting with accuracy. Colby’s hustle earned her a penalty kick in the second half to tie the game. Bailey shot a bending ball to the far post in the first 10 minutes of overtime and a touch off Navoy’s boot wrapped up the MV’s victory.

Coach’s quote: “We were a bit on the bus in the first half. The pouring rain made it hard to control possession in the midfield. But we fought back and created many chances. With 32 shots and only one goal, shot placement will surely be our focus in practice. Excited to keep up our winning streak!” – MV’s Kylee Yam
