Feeling the summer spirit, Henniker will host its fourth annual BB&B Fest — Blues, Brews & BBQ — on the green in the shade of the Angela Robinson Bandstand, located at Community Park. The festival, sponsored by Pats Peak, will take place on Tuesday, July 22 at 6:00 p.m.
On tap that evening will be a beer sampling from Henniker Brewing Company. $10.00 buys you 5 samples totaling 20 ounces of their best home-grown brews. Since 2011, Henniker Brewing has been brewing beers that New Hampshire can be proud to call its own. BBQ will be provided again by Mitchell’s BBQ of Rochester. For this event, please bring a photo ID. No one under the age of 21 will be allowed in the Brewery area. Payment will be in the form of cash and checks only.
What is truly the highlight of the event is the returning band that has been part of the last two BB&B in Henniker. The Blues Express returns for a third year to Henniker. They are a New Hampshire-based blues band often led by frontman, guitarist and songwriter Frankie Boy Blues. Their recent CD release, “Young Man’s Blues” is climbing the blues charts, garnering lots of attention. Poised to move upward in the blues world, the group consists of four members playing unique new blues and some of their favorite covers. “The Blues Express” style ranges from traditional blues to funk all the way to hip-hop. This is real home-grown electric blues with Chicago and Texas roots. The key band members are Mickey Maguire, bass/vocals, Mike Morgan, guitar and Harrison Foti, drums. This year, the group will include several horn players at the Henniker show.
Listen to the band at https://youtube/LkT6aza-d0Q. Winners of the 2019 and 2022 Granite State Blues Society Blues Challenge and semi-finalists in the International competition, The Blues Express will bring their, funky, fresh, raw, rugged Blues power to the town in this repeat engagement.
The Henniker Summer Music Series is presented by the town of Henniker. All concerts are free (although donations are welcome) and take place at the Angela Robinson Bandstand at Community Park, 47 Main Street.
Should there be inclement weather, the concert will move indoors to the adjacent upstairs Community Center. Stake out a space, bring a chair, spread a blanket, visit a local restaurant, have a picnic supper on the lawn or visit Mitchells BBQ for some down home ribs/chicken/brisket and join your neighbors and friends in this community-building event at our bandstand..
