Letter: Thank you, Gov. Ayotte

As the executive director of ABLE NH, I am happy to hear that Gov. Kelly Ayotte is committed to supporting people with disabilities in New Hampshire. Her budget increases funding for special education and makes sure there is no waitlist for developmental disability services. These are important steps that will help children get the education they need and make sure adults with disabilities have access to the services they rely on to live and be part of their communities. As we move forward, we look forward to working with the governor and the legislature to make sure these promises become real support for families and individuals across our state. Strong schools and well-funded services make a big difference in people’s lives, and we hope this budget shows a long-term commitment to these values. We also appreciate the governor’s focus on creating more job opportunities, expanding vocational programs where many people with disabilities can succeed and supporting local communities. As these plans take shape, we want to make sure people with disabilities are fully included in education, jobs, healthcare, and housing. New Hampshire is a beautiful state that values strong communities. These are the same values that ABLE NH works for, making sure all people with disabilities are included and supported. We are excited about these commitments and thank Gov. Ayotte for working to make New Hampshire a place where everyone is included.
