Some highlights of options for a weekend of entertainment

Book release party

What: Mr. Aaron shares a brand new picture book for kids based on his song, “The Bog.” The fan-favorite song in book form is beautifully designed by Lindy Borden and she did an incredible job with it. This one has been a few years in the making, given a global pandemic and all that, but it’s finally here! To celebrate, he’s doing a big show at Kimball Jenkins on June 3rd at 11a.m., outdoors in the field. You’ll be able to pick up the book and some other goodies, and jam to The Bog and plenty of other sunshine songs the kick off the summer!

When: June 3, at 11 a.m.

Watercolor Painting

What: Join in for an afternoon of watercolor painting at one of the most beautiful locations in New Hampshire ! Capture the iconic vista from Castle in the Clouds and the beautiful skyline overlooking the lakes. The high angle view from the Winnipesaukee Room provides a unique perspective that will serve as inspiration for your very own masterpiece. The workshop is perfect for all experience levels, whether you are a beginner artist or have experience painting, there is always something new to learn. This is an opportunity to paint from a new point of view and learn new techniques. They will work with professional transparent pigments and beautiful 100% cotton paper. If you wish, bring your favorite brushes, but all necessary supplies will be provided.

When: June 1 from 1 to 3 p.m.

Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Dave Mason

What: Celebrated rocker Dave Masonwill be performing in Derryat Tupelo Music Hall. Dave Mason kicks off his summer tour, a testament to Mason’s six-decade enduring role as a Rock Icon in the midst of support of his music loving fans the world over. A self-described endangered species, Mason, who celebrated his 77th birthday on May 10, enjoyed a successful live tour run this winter and is thrilled to get back out on the road to see his friends and fans.

When: Sunday, May 28 at 7 p.m.

Swing, Swing, Swing!

What: Summer dance party, with a fun evening dancing to the Bedford Big Band, a 19-piece band with members from New Hampshire and Massachusetts. Free dance lesson at 6:30 p.m., with desserts, raffles, and a cash bar.

When: June 1, at 7 p.m.
