Letter: It’s all about the coattails!

The NH Republican primary on Jan. 23 is rapidly approaching. If you’re concerned about seeing real change happen in the federal government, then I suggest considering who is most likely to beat the Democrat nominee and have the largest coattails. At the moment, polls say that Trump will beat the other Republican candidates but barely win in a contest against Biden. Furthermore, because of his chaotic and divisive nature, it will be a challenge for him to gain solid majorities in the House or the Senate.

On the other hand, polls show Nikki Haley decisively beating Biden by 17 points because she is more likely to attract independents and the “never Trumpers.” She is also likely to have bigger coattails resulting in solid majorities in the House and Senate, making it easier to pass much-needed legislation concerning such things as the border, energy policy, the budget, crime, and weaponized government agencies. Furthermore, as the former ambassador to the UN, she has a firm grasp of geopolitics, which is critical given events in Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan. So, if you seek change, I suggest you consider supporting Nikki Haley.
