Letter: NH governor solves border problem

While I was preparing dinner this week I began choking and coughing to the point where my husband became concerned for my health. When I regained my composure, I explained to him that I had just heard Gov. Sununu say, on WMUR, that he will petition the NH Fiscal Committee for $850,000 of New Hampshire general funds to send a number of NH National Guardsmen to the southern border! So, do I understand correctly that our governor believes that he, or moreover the state of New Hampshire, can now solve the illegal immigration problem using New Hampshire tax dollars?

Not even the U.S. House of Representatives is willing to solve this problem right now with the backing of the U.S. taxpayer! Since Sununu has lost standing within the Republican Party by supporting Nikki Haley, he will try to use the New Hampshire taxpayer to buy his way back into the MAGA fold. He has said that the reason that he is not running for New Hampshire governor again is because “It’s time to get a real job.” I could not agree with you more governor. My advice is to seek employment out of politics because the voters of New Hampshire will not soon forget.
