Letter: Bow needs follow through, not just promises

The February edition of the Bow Times reported on the decades-long attempt for Bow to have Concord’s municipal water connect to Hall Street and south along Route 3-A. It credited Bow Selectmen, Matt Poulin for negotiating a deal to make this project a reality. Of the deal, Selectmen Poulin said, “I am proud to say we saved Bow over $9,000,000 than if we had to build a water tower and pump water over the hills on Route 3-A from Hooksett to Bow Junction.” One not so insignificant detail in the article was that the agreement is tentative. This is more concerning as Selectmen Poulin reported a verbal agreement with Concord had been reached as far back as March of 2023.

It’s fair to raise the question of if the deal will be finalized or if this is a convenient talking point prior to town elections? The updates on negotiations with Concord have lacked transparency. While I appreciate all who chose to serve the town, representing to your constituents a recognized savings based on a tentative agreement is misleading. It’s time to move-on from the bickering and belittling of others. We need representation on the select board that will restore decorum and follow-through on solving the problems the residents of Bow care about. I urge you to get out and vote for Kip McDaniel and Ian Flanagan for select board on March 12th!
