Letter: America’s most notorious traitor

When on Jan. 6, 2021 President Trump’s insurrectionists stormed the nation’s Capitol building assaulting, causing serious injuries among the 151 Capitol Police and Metropolitan Police Officers requiring medical attention, thuggery leading to the death of officer Brian Sicknick and others Gov. Chris Sununu described these assailants as “domestic terrorists.” Sununu pledged “to protect and defend American democracy” as a “responsibility we must remain devoted to.” However, Sununu’s devotion to America’s democracy didn’t last long. Neither Trump’s attempted coup nor his threats of perpetrating further violence against American should he either win or lose the 2024 election impeded Sununu’s endorsement of Trump, the indicted leader he previously condemned.
Former Trump Secretary of Defense General Jim Mattis describes sycophants like Sununu perfectly when he wrote that Trump’s “use of the presidency to destroy trust in our election and to poison our respect for fellow citizens has been enabled by pseudo political leaders whose names will live in infamy for cowardice.” Jan. 6 epitomizes “Trump being Trump” governor, Trump the most notorious traitor in American history has the blood of innocent people on his hands including that of one of his own supporters who he shamelessly lied to about a free, fair and democratic election being “stolen,” incited her into becoming violent and exploits even in death. Trump is absolutely unfit for public office, Sununu knows it but pretends otherwise, fooling nobody not even himself.
