Jail visitor accused of smuggling drugs

A Vermont woman was arrested while allegedly smuggling drugs to an inmate at the men’s state prison in Concord, according to a press release.

Sierra Maskell, 30, of Eden Mills, Vt., has been charged with conspiracy to introduce articles to prisoners and possession of controlled drugs.

According to police, Maskell was planning to smuggle drugs to 30-year-old inmate Ronald Truell during a visit to the prison Saturday. Investigators from the New Hampshire State Police and Department of Corrections learned of the plan prior to Maskell’s arrival at the prison, and she was arrested that day at 6 p.m.

Maskell was found to have 74 strips of suboxone, as well as cocaine, ritalin and drug paraphernalia. The prison value of the these drugs is estimated at $23,000.

Truell is currently serving a two- to 15-year sentence for robbery, the release stated.
