The first Live Free or Die Film Festival will take place in Manchester on Aug. 12 at the Palace Theatre. Submissions are being received for student films, shorts, indie, animation, video art, experimental and the avant-garde. Films from all genres will be accepted for review and first-time filmmakers are welcome. Out of state and international submissions will be accepted, with the main focus being on New Hampshire’s talent. The trustees of the Tucker Free Library invite community members to stop by the library May 17 to 22 to help celebrate staff appreciation week.
The Chapter Two Thrift Shop at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church has spring merchandise plus new items from a local retailer. There will be gently-used clothing for infants, children and adults; shoes and accessories; boutique items; and small household items available.
Hours are Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and the first Sunday of each month from 9 a.m. to noon. Use the Centre Street entrance, cash only accepted.
