Senior Kelleigh Murtagh (Merrimack), of the Lyndon State College women’s volleyball team, led the defense with a match-high 13 digs to help the Hornets defeat Castleton, 3-0, in the North Atlantic Conference semifinals.
Warren Bartlett (Loudon) finished in third place and the Plymouth State University men’s cross country team captured a third-place finish at the Little East Conference championships. Bartlett finished 15 seconds behind teammate Sam Brunnette, who placed first overall in the field of 59 runners.
Courtney Benson (Hopkinton) assisted on the game-winning goal to help the Southern New Hampshire University women’s soccer team down Adelphi University, 3-1.
Hannah Hast (Bow) clipped her previous record mark by a second to place 75th for the Simmons College women’s cross country team at the Great Northeast Atlantic Conference Championship.
Freshman wide receiver Jacob Szulc (Concord) of the Plymouth State University football team caught six passes for 45 yards in a 13-10 loss to Worcester State.
New England College scored two goals in the final nine minutes and upset the third-seeded Colby-Sawyer College men’s soccer team, 2-1, in the North Atlantic Conference quarterfinals. Eddie Garcia scored the lone goal for the Chargers in the 19th minute, finishing the shot from the top of the box.
With five runners in the top eight, the Colby-Sawyer College men’s cross country team claimed the North Atlantic Conference Cross Country Championship. The Chargers finished with 25 points in the 8K race that featured over 100 runners. Freshman Peter Bakker paced the Chargers with a runner-up finish in 26:29.3. Senior Scott Shaw placed third in a time of 26:58.2.
Backed by an impressive performance from Emily Lopez, the Colby-Sawyer College women’s cross country team took home its third straight North Atlantic Conference Championship. Lopez finished second overall with a time of 21:14.6. The Chargers scored 36 points and placed five runners in the top 10 in the 5K race.
For the first time in four years, the Tilton School field hockey team defeated Brewster Academy, using goals from Kaitlin Bardellini and Tia Raspante for the 2-0 victory. The Rams received strong midfield play from Jackie Hill and Shannon Colbert and scored one goal apiece in each half.
Matt Levesque tallied his first varsity goal but the Tilton School boys’ soccer team lost to Hyde School, 3-1. Tommy Wendt played a strong game at midfield for the Rams.
Lauren Henderson and Elizabeth Wells both put forward strong performances in a four-school cross country meet hosted by Saint Paul’s School. Henderson placed second with a time of 20:12, while Wells finished right behind her in third with a time of 20:36. Rowan Marcy (6th, 21:28), Francesca Walton (8th, 21:47) and Ellora Sen (9th, 21:56) rounded out the top runners for the Pelicans.

The Concord Capitals Orthopedics Bantam 2 team fell to Andover, Mass., 5-3. Cam Brown, Nate Carter and Cooper Leppard all scored for Concord with CJ Smethurst and Donovan Hayes picking up assists.
Josh Arlen, Ian Miller and Isaak Davis all found the back of the net, but the Concord Capitals Body Armor Squirt 3 team lost to the New Hampshire Junior Monarch Squirts. Miller and Gracen Arndt added assists and Lucas Arlen made several key stops in goal.
