Concord’s Ethan Case won the 500-yard freestyle and was second in the 100 as the Crimson Tide boys’ swimming team went 4-1 in a six-team dual meet on Friday night.
The Tide also got strong nights from Jay Blasko (second 100 back, third 200 free) and Aaron Saffian (second 200 IM). Concord’s only loss was against a large contingent from Windham.
“As usual, it is hard to compete with the larger teams in the state for the boys,” Concord’s Bill Quinn said. “We had five athletes available to compete tonight.”
Bow’s Ethan Rychwalski (first 100 free) and Joe Chen (first 100 breaststroke) led the Falcons to a 3-2 mark on the night. Willem Wamser, Kyle Mason, Rychwalski and Chen took second in the 200 free relay. Bishop Brady went 2-3 and got a third-place result in the 100 free from Jacob Smith.
The best individual performance from a local came from Matthew Sundius of Inter-Lakes, who took first in the 50 free and 100 back. The Lakers went 1-4 on the night.

Highlights/key moments: Bow dominated from the start, thanks to Jenkins and grabbed victories over every team except Windham. The Falcons also won both the 200 and 400 freestyle relays along the way. Hopkinton’s Schell was impressive for the Hawks in the pool with two first-place finishes.
Fall Mountain 52, Franklin 28
Key players: Franklin – Zoe Kaplan (8 points), Hailey Haskins (6 points)
Highlights/key moments: The Golden Tornadoes trailed by eight at halftime but Fall Mountain’s pressure defense turned that into a 19-point deficit going into the fourth quarter.

Key players: Hopkinton – Zach Berliner (3rd); John Stark – Aidan Moser (6th)
Highlights/key moments: Berliner led the Hawks in their season-opening meet at Crotched Mountain. Derryfield (384) placed five skiers in the top nine to secure the win. Lin-Wood (365), Sunapee (360), Littleton (329), Woodsville (329), Hopkinton (326), Newport (299) and John Stark (173) also competed.
Hopkinton fourth
Key players: Hopkinton – Addie Locke (7th); John Stark – Samantha Innerfield (8th)
Highlights/key moments: Locke finished seventh and the Hawks placed four skiers in the top 25, but Sunapee (388) won the season-opening meet at Crotched Mountain. The Lakers had the top two skiers and four of the top six to secure the win. Derryfield (360), Lin-Wood (355), Hopkinton (349), Littleton (325), Woodsville (307), Lisbon (96) and John Stark (92) also competed.
