After leading the Wildcats with 17.1 points per game this season, University of New Hampshire junior Tanner Leissner was named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches District 1 Second Team on Wednesday.

Leissner, who also ranked second on the team in rebounding (6.9 rebounds per game), was one of four America East student-athletes named to the District 1 First or Second Team. Leissner broke the program’s all-time free-throw made record this season with 368 total in just three seasons at UNH. The forward is top-10 in six different career categories following his junior season, including No. 6 on the all-time scoring list with 1,381 points.

Leissner recorded 27 double-digit scoring games this season and was named to the All-Conference First Team for the second straight year. His personal highlight for the season may have come in a 105-103 double-overtime loss at UMBC on Jan. 28 when he scored 36 points, the sixth highest single-game scoring total in program history and the highest in the last 20 years.
